Skull Stamped Cards

Todays card project inspiration comes from a little gift my Husband brought home today. A fun skull print pair of knee socks from Sock it to Me www.sockittomesocks.com He is running the Rock N' Roll Marathon in Denver this weekend and picked them up at the expo.

I was in the card making mood so I used my Fiskars "Ink" "Skin and Bones" clear stamp set. I stamped "you Rock" and "Happy Birthday Wild Child" on the inside of the cards. Here are the easy step by step instructions to recreate them:

You need :
Femme Fatale Paper Pad by Recollections (find at Michael's stores) Paper (my current fav-very Betsey Johnson feel to the papers with zebra, leopard, lipstick kisses, and grunge florals).
"Bling on a roll" scrapbook tape by Recollections also from Michaels stores.
Padlock dimensional sticker by Jolee's Boutique
Fuskars "Ink" "skin and Bones" acrylic Stamp Set
Stick on gemstones and Bows

Card #1 (vertical) Cut a piece of lipstick card stock 1/2" smaller than your card. I chose the part of the lipstick pattern pattern paper that had black swirls on it. Distress the edges of the paper with charcoal cats eye ink and apply to the card with your tape runner. Apply two pieces of "bling on a roll" decorative tape near the top of the card. I also used this tape on the project Crazy Clips. Tie a ribbon around the dimensional padlock sticker and attach. Stamp the skull image onto white card stock with burgandy or black ink. Cut out and distress the edges with charcoal cats eye ink. Apply with pop dots to a piece of black card stock cut 1/2" bigger and attach to the card with tape runner.

Card #2 (Horizontal) Cut a piece of damask paper from Femme Fatale paper pad 1/2" smaller than your card and apply with tape runner. Cut a piece of black card stock about 3" wide. Punch the edge with Martha Stewart's "Drippy Goo" edge punch. I just bought this punch and love it! It is the first side punch I have bought. Apply the black punched card stock to the left side of the card with tape runner. Apply two pieces of "bling on a roll" tape over the black card stock. I used pink and black/silver tape. Apply 3 rows of stick on gems. Stamp the skull image with black ink on white card stock. Cut out and distress the edges with charcoal cats eye ink. Cut a piece of black card stock 1/2" bigger and apply the skull with tape runner. Attach the mini card to the background with pop dots. Use a glue dot to attach a little black bow.

Card #3 Created for the ColourQ Challenge using this week's colors:

Card #3 Cut a piece of card stock 1/2" smaller than your card. Combine several of the little stamps from the Fiskars "Skin and Bones" set to your clear stamp base and create a patterned background paper by stamping them 3 or 4 times onto the paper with black ink. Distess the edges of your paper again with the charcoal cats eye ink and attach to the card with tape runner. Layer 4 strips of paper at the bottom of the card using your tape runner. I used black, zebra, pear, and brown paper strips. Stamp "Happy Birthday" from the Stampin Up set "Grunge Rock" and "Wild Child" from the "Skin and Bones" set onto green paper. Cut out and distress with charcoal cats eye ink. Stamp the skull image onto white card stock and cut out. Apply skull to the green card stock. Cut a strip of black card stock and punch with Martha Stewart's "Drippy Goo" edge punch. Attach to the green paper from behind. Cut out a piece of black card stock 1/2" larger than the green card and apply with pop dots. Attach with tape runner and use a glue dot to attach a black bow to the skull head.
